Days after earning its second consecutive Northeast Conference championship, the Sacred Heart University women's cross country team has been recognized by the USTFCCCA with its first Northeast Region ranking of the season heading into the NCAA Regional on November 14. SHU is tied for fourteenth with Patriot League champion Boston University. The ranking is Sacred Heart's third ever regional ranking in program history, as they were ranked 15th in the final poll prior to Regionals in 2008, and ranked as high as 14th in the fifth poll of the season in 2012.
