The 37 points that Sacred Heart scored in two throwing events alone were enough to catapult the Pioneers to the top spot in the team standings following the first day of the 2014 NEC Men s Outdoor Track & Field Championships. SHU also scored in the long jump, pole vault and 4x800m relay to run its first-day point total up to 54, giving the Pioneers an 18-point lead over second-place Wagner (36 pts).
